General Terms and Conditions

HOUSE RULES Merge Spaces Location: 2229 Kingston Road Unit B, Toronto, Ontario

House rules must be followed by all Members and their employees and guests. These rules are intended to ensure that every Member and guest enjoys their time at Merge.

No smoking on the premises. If you must smoke, please smoke outside, at least 15 feet away from our doors. “Smoking” includes vaping and marijuana. Under the City of Toronto regulations there is absolutely no smoking inside the premises at any time.

Merge Spaces staff are here to help you and sign for packages during regular business office hours, Monday through Friday, from 8:30AM to 5:00PM special hours may apply, and these could be subject to adjustment during holidays. Packages are to be picked up from Merge Spaces the same day as arrival.

Our offices are designed to accommodate a specific number of people. Exceeding that number is not permitted. Example: a six-desk office provides working space for a maximum of six people. Speak with Merge Spaces staff about additional team members. Solutions will be created for you to expand your company!

Please be considerate of other members in shared spaces, i.e. kitchen, washrooms, corridors, and conference rooms. Please clean up after your meetings as well - conference rooms should be left ready for another member’s use.

Please set your phone ringers to low volume: you should only be able to hear it if you are sitting at your desk. Please be mindful of how loud you may be while talking on the phone as well, especially in our open-air and coworking areas. Please refrain from using your speaker phone and proper etiquette for web-conferences and video calls is headphone use.

Non-employees are not allowed into offices unaccompanied by Merge Spaces staff or the tenant of the respective office. We must be introduced to new hires as well as get a scanned copy of their ID. We also need to be notified about computer tech people who may need to get access periodically, as well as a scan of their ID.

Guests of Merge Spaces Members. Your guests are our guests, but you are responsible for their behaviour when they are here. You must always accompany your guest and under no circumstances is your Kisi key access transferrable.

Children are welcome for an occasional visit to the space. Since we are a space to work for many, we ask that children are quiet and always supervised by their guardian(s) in their respective office space. When play extends into the hallways and common areas, it becomes a distraction for other members.

Only regular office garbage can be disposed of. Members are required to ask permission before disposing of bulky items, or irregular garbage. Disposal fees will be passed on to the Member for all irregular discarded garbage.

Candles are not permitted under any circumstances. This goes for all exposed flames of any kind.

Members are prohibited from bringing in kitchen appliances such as refrigerators, microwaves, toasters, toaster ovens, and hot plates.

Cleaning up after yourself. You are responsible for your own dirty dishes, put them in the dishwasher and/or wash them.

Communal fridge cleaning will take place the last Friday of each month at 4:00pm. At that time, all unlabeled or spoiled items left in the fridge/freezer will be thrown out at 4:00PM.

We encourage you to make your space your own, but all decorations that require removal such as paint, whiteboards, decals, etc., require prior written approval from your Community Manager. You may not block the glass under any circumstances - it is important that we allow the light to pass through the building!

Merge provides Members with $5.00 worth of printing and copying (combined) per month, per desk. Overages will be billed back to the Member at the rate of $.10 per page of black and white and $.25 per page of colour. This is not a profit centre for us - we are simply passing along the service charges.

Merge Spaces Wi-Fi is everyone’s Wi-Fi. Be mindful, and do not disrupt, saturate, or hog the network or Wi-Fi. Please conduct large backups outside of business hours.

Members need to specify the approximate duration when booking a conference room. Conference room use is limited.
